Su Fotoradio - Un podcast che parla di fotografie si segue il concetto di “fair use” sviluppato dalla US copyright law, che autorizza l’utilizzo di materiale protetto su base limitata e per specifici utilizzi, senza il permesso del titolare dei diritti. Nella sostanza è un buon modo per utilizzare materiale protetto a certe condizioni.

Le condizioni sono:

Questo è esattamente il caso. Questo sito non contiene pubblicità e non registra (e quindi non sfrutta) i dati degli utenti che navigano. Inoltre, lo scopo degli articoli è proprio legato al concetto di educational e ricerca.

Inoltre, la dimensione massima delle immagini è ridotta a 800px a 72dpi, tale da non rendere possibile una stampa di qualità del materiale.

Fotoradio is an italian language podcast dedicated to photographs. In this page we explain how we use photographs that we have discussed in the show.

Basically, we follow the four principles of the US Fair use I recap here:

  1. Purpose of use “Nonprofit, educational, scholarly or research use”. That’s the case: the podcast is nonprofit with educational purposes

  2. Nature or type of work Published, fact-based content.

  3. Amount used Using only the amount needed for a given purpose. I publish only the photographs discussed in the show. The maximum definition of those photographs is maximum 800px on the longest side at maximum 72dpi in order to avoid quality printing and re-use.

  4. Market Effect If there would be no effect, or it is not possible to obtain permission to use the work. Either this web site and the podcast are noprofit for educational purposes. Nothing is on sale here and no advertisting is allowed.
